Hi, I'm Jeffrey Paul, celebrity makeup artist and today I'm here to show you different ways to wear eye makeup. Eye makeup is made to enhance the eyes, to make them shine, to make them pop. People often ask me how do I make my eyes pop, well that is they want to frame the eyes, define them and show them off. Today, I'll be using Expertwear Eye Shadow by Maybelline. With eye makeup what you're doing is changing the proportions of the eye by the different colors and shades. For instance, light colors anywhere on the eye are going to make things come forward where darker tones are going to create shape or define. With your eye you can make it up in a variety of ways. What I'm going to choose to do with Tracy is use a lighter color. With this I'm going to show you the concept of light and dark, but, if you take the lighter color which in this palette is marked base, I'm going to use that on the eyelid with a flat bristled brush, I'm going to pat the eye shadow all over the lid and up into the brow. You can see in the palette that there are other tones, a taupe, a brown and a deep gray. What's great about palettes like this is they actually have labels and that can tell you where to place it but you can also create your own. I'm using the taupy color with a soft tipped brush and I'm actually going to use this to define the eye. I'm going to use that in the crease. So with the brush I'm going to angle it right at the corner of the eye and following the crease I'm going to swoop it around and just almost like a windshield wiper, just smooth it and blend it into the other color. What you can see is that the taupe next to the white is actually adding definition and shape. The tones I have chosen are actually found in Tracy's hair and in her eye color. This is a good way to stay natural and more neutral. From this look you could actually line the eye with a deeper tone but what I want to show you is using one color all over the lid, so it's a simple application. It's an easy thing to do, one color to highlight, to absorb any excess oils or moisture and then just one color all over. This also will frame the eye, make it stand out and make your eyes pop. So with the same flat brush I'm going over the base color, just creating a depth and dimension, bring it all the way up into the crease where you can see I defined the crease before and smoothing it out. One color on the lid is a great way to frame your eye and do makeup in less than five minutes. It will give your eye shape and dimension. You can see with this look, this defines Tracy's eye, creating almost like a frame of a picture around it. I'm going to take the same color and just lightly smudge with the tip of my brush around the eye. This also will create some depth and dimension. I finished the other eye on Tracy and you can see both eyes are blended, they look even and it frames the eye and adds depth and dimension to Tracy's eyes. There you have it, that's just one of many different ways to wear eye makeup. I'm Jeffrey Paul. Thank you for watching.
