Hi. My name is Hilda Levierge and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to help you how to determine your skin tone. It's important to determine the proper color foundation for your skin tone so that you don't look like you're wearing a mask and the foundation blends seamlessly in to your own natural skin color. So, I'm going to test three different colors that are similar to Liz's skin tone. She has a little bit of a yellow undertone, but she's pretty fair. So Today on Liz I'm going to be using Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation. So, your foundation should blend in to your skin. So, that's going to be way too light. You should never try to change the color of your skin tone foundation. It'll just, it gets too tricky and ends up looking like a mask. And that's going to be too dark. As you can see, there's too much of a difference between that color and Liz's neck. Let's try, OK. So, that seems closest. It's a little bit too dark. So, what you could do is just blend two colors, by two colors and blend them both. And then you'll have a darker one on hand for the summer months if you have a little more color. So, I'm going to blend these two colors. So, if you're using a brush, you just want to stroke it on, just paint your face and just bring it down just a little past your jaw line, and blend it just down in to the neck. I also like to just use my fingertips to kind of blend it in, buff it in to the skin. And that just gives a really smooth finish. Because the brush can sometimes leave little strokes. And you just want to give yourself just a light even coat all over the face. Foundation is a great way to just even out your skin tone and it also acts as a nice base for your other makeup like your blush and your eyeshadow to adhere to. So, it will wear longer. And you just want to, you want your own skin to slightly show through. Liz has some really pretty little freckles. So, I don't want to cover up and mask her face. Because that's just, you know, gives her skin a nice texture, those freckles. I'm going to put a little bit over her eyelids so that when we put eyeshadow on, she'll have an even coverage over there and an even base for us to start with. Liquid is really nice. I love the Fit Me Foundation, because it is very moisturizing to the skin and it also has an SPF, so you have your sun protection in your coverage and your moisture. So, that is the easiest and best way to determine skin tone. Thanks for watching. I'm Hilda Levierge.
