- Celebrity hairstylist, David Dang, showing you how you can curl hair easy. I'll be showing you how you can use easy tools to curl and define your hair. So what I'm going to be using first is my curling iron and then I'm going to be using clips and hair ties and a mousse. The mousse that we're going to be using today is our L'Oreal Paris EverStyle Curl Activating Mousse. As you can see I've already pre-curled Bianca's hair, very beautiful, very defined and in order to achieve this look I had to use a mousse. So her hair was wet before but I went ahead and blow dried it and started to pre-curl and before using that I needed something to strong hold it in and what I did was use this mousse. And again, mousse as less is more. That's the theory behind mousse and you don't want to use too much because you're going to get that little crunch that you don't want, that 90s neon look, you want to use a little bit more of the relaxed wave. So I used this much in my hand. Now I used that in the hair, again I only used it from mids to ends, and again less is more, mids to ends. So then I started to pre-curl Bianca's hair. I'm going to show you how to pre-curl really quickly with a 3/4 inch curling iron. Now Bianca has already a natural wave to her hair. As you can see from the occipital bone and below, she has this nice nice wave in her hair because I defined that but here you can see the difference. It's more of like a nice bigger wave but not so much defined, a little straggly but what we need to do is we need to define it a little bit more, giving it that everyday look and this is going to take you really really quick. So I'm going to section the hair and I'm going to show you this. Now, when you section the hair you can take thick parts, little parts. I suggest about medium depending on what kind of look that you're going for and I'm going to take my curling iron and again you want to wrap away from the hair, again gravity is not our friend. You want to wrap away from the hair so that when it comes to fall down, you want to have that volume still left for the day and then you wrap and you hold it for a little bit, not too long, no crisp and you take it out and you see that there's already the curl starting to be formed. A little bit more defined and away from the face. So usually I use hairspray to curl the hair before but here we're just trying to achieve volume and definition so we don't really need to use hairspray as much and we're not going to use a lot of heat on her hair, so once again I'll just go ahead and spray after the curl. As you can see her hair is nicely defined now. It's all nice and curled, just really there. It has the volume it needs. It's just really really nice and that was all because I used my curling iron and wrapped it around and just give it more of a nice defined look. I left her bangs out on purpose so that I can show you what you need to do or what you can do as a suggestion. You can also go ahead and section these parts and then remember, to section away from the hair and curl starting away from the hair. You can either do that or you can just pin it back. It just depends on what kind of look that you're going for. Again less is more and whatever you have time for go ahead and do. And as you can see on Bianca. She has this nice bang and it's nice and defined. She has all this volume already. You can create different styles, again whatever you have time for, whatever you have time to do after this. If you're in a rush, if you have a meeting, if you can't really put anything together right away, go ahead and tie it up. You can either tie it to the side or tie it to the back and you know, depending on what kind of job you have or depending on what kind of look you're going for. Maybe you're going on a quick date and you don't have anything, you know, a certain style that you go for. I just like, usually suggest, put it to the side ponytail, a little bit more romantic and she has all that volume going on already, a little bit more romantic, ready to go and that's just like a one, two, three step right there, left a little bit of the bang down just to give it more of a nice flow or you can definitely put it into a bun in the back. Since you've already started with all this and you've already got here, you might as well do it. Again I'll just put it in the back here. I'll do a loose ponytail in the back, again just for that romanticism or wherever you want to put it is fine. I'll just put it right into a little bun, right over left, left over right and just put it under here. And then just take your bobby pins and then clip it in. Again my rule for bobby pins is there is no minimum or maximum, just enough to hold in the hair. Usually I put four. I usually do it on North, South, East and West, perfect and there we go, just a light bun. Still keeping some stuff around her face to frame it and give her more of a definition. Alright, and there you have it, some easy ways on how to curl hair. Celebrity hairstylist, David Dang here showing you how to do it.
