Hi I'm Jessica Liparoto celebrity hairstylist. Today I'm going to show you how to create a side bun. Today I'm going to show you how to do a messy side bun. And what's great about this hairstyle is that you can wear it from a formal to a casual event. This look is pretty simple to do. All you need is a brush, a few bobby pins small and large, an elastic, and some hairspray. The hairspray that we'll be using is L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Strong Hold Hairspray. First we are going to start off by choosing a part. I think for Emily we are going to part to the side. She's got a really nice texture and wave in her hair right now. So we're kind of just going to go with that. You are going to grab your brush and since this is going to be very messy we are going to do a little bit of back brushing. So pick the hair up literally just pull the brush back. This is going to create some volume and this is going to help us create a piecy, messy look. So after we have back brushed we are now going to gather all the hair to one side. I'm going to put her bun on this side to go along with her bangs. So now that we have everything to the side use your fingers just try to grab everything over to one side. Now we are going to clip just a little bit below her ear. And now like a regular ponytail. And to create a little more volume in here I'm going to grab two of the under pieces and just pull up tight. And you have a little extra volume in here. But also I like to do is grab a piece of hair and use a little bit of your hairspray root to ends. I like to cover the hair tie before I do my bun. And you are going to secure it with one of your small bobby pins. Now we are going to take the ponytail and we are going to do a little back brushing to create more of a texture and fill out the ponytail. Now that that's done we are going to grab the ponytail and we are just going to kind of put your fingers here, tuck around. Grab a few of your bobby pins and just start pinning. It doesn't matter where. The more random pins you put in the better it will look. And if you think you need a little more security you can use one of your larger bobby pins. And I'm going to use that to anchor the bottom. Tweak it a little bit with your fingers to your desired style. And see we kind of have a nice shape happening already. We are going to blend her bangs back. We are going to finish with a light spray. And this is how you get a messy side bun. I'm Jessica Liparoto thank you for watching.
