Hi, I'm Amy Hollier, and I'm a celebrity makeup artist. Today, I'm going to show you the correct way to put on eye liner. I'm going to use one of my favorite gel eye liners, it's called Eye Studio from Maybelline, and the color is charcoal. When you use a gel eye liner you need to really load up your brush evenly before beginning to apply it. So, this is a small flat brush that has a little bit of a tapered tip. It's perfect for applying a gel liner. At home, you want to just lift up your eye so you can right into the base of the lash line and get all the gaps between the lashes. You can always open your eye and just check in the mirror before you continue. So now that I have it right along the base, I'm going to go ahead and just lengthen it and make it a little bit wider at the outside edges. You can just follow the natural curve of your lower lash line up and give it a little bit of a flick on the outside corner. When you apply a gel or a liquid liner, you want to lay your brush flat on the lid and then just drag it right along the lash line. It also doesn't have to be perfect on the first time. You can really go back and lengthen and thicken the line as you go. I also like to add a little bit on the outside corner and bring it right into that tear duct. And you can see from eye to eye, this one has a bit more of a dramatic look. When you apply your eye liner, you want to just stand back. Look at yourself in the mirror, make sure that they're both symmetrical. Because Heather has such a gorgeous almond eye, she can really pull off that thick liner. But, if your eyelids are a little bit smaller, you can always just keep the line a little more thin. Also, a great tip when you're applying, if you go too far, just take a little Q-tip with a tiny bit of eye make up remover and you can just run that right along the lower edge to clean up any mistakes you might have made. You want to make sure though that you only have a tiny amount of eye make up remover so it doesn't ruin the liner you have on. And that's the correct way to put on eye liner. I'm Amy Hollier, and thanks for watching.
