- Hi I'm Stevi Christine, professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to teach you what skin primer you should use. One thing you should remember before applying primer is apply a moisturizer. Once your moisturizer is set then you're going to go ahead and take your primer and apply that all over the skin. The great thing about a primer is it fills in any fine lines, any pores but my favorite thing about a primer is it helps keep your foundation on all day long. It's amazing for red carpets or just an all day look. So today on Chelsea I'm going to use L'Oreal Paris Magic Perfecting Base. With this primer, a little goes a long way. Just take a little and you just want to place it all over the skin and then you just blend either with your finger or a brush. I personally like using a finger because you tend to blend it out everywhere you need to and as I stated earlier this helps all foundations stay on the skin. It helps leave a beautiful flawless finish. When I blend I tend to like blending up and out instead of down. I'm a firm believer that it helps lift everything. As you can see on Chelsea we put the primer all over the skin. One thing to remember this primer is actually good for all skin types, oily skin, dry skin but it also leaves a very matte finish which is excellent for an all day wear and there you have it.
