- Hi, I'm Jhizet Panosian, celebrity makeup artist, and today we're going to demonstrate what color lipstick is right for you. When picking a lipstick color, it's really important to remember a few things: your skin shade and your skin tone, and what occasion you're getting ready for. A day look is completely different than a night look, so you want to make sure you're right for the event. With Katie here, she has a very warm undertone to her skin, and she has blond hair, and we kind of want to get her ready for a simple day look, so we don't want anything too dramatic, and we don't want something too light for just the day. For Katie's look today, we're going to use L'Oreal's Infallible lipstick in Always Apricot. We've already prepped her skin and applied foundation and concealer, and a coat of brown mascara. I'm now going to get her lipstick on with a flat lip brush, just load up my apricot - a really warm shade, and start with the inner corner of the lips and work outwards. Now when picking a lipstick, you always want to think about the texture of the lipstick as well. Some lipsticks can be really heavy and really creamy, and that's sometimes uncomfortable to wear if you're wearing it all day long. And you can always use a lip liner to enhance the color. And a lip liner will always help you maintain the color throughout the day. For her, we didn't really apply a lip liner, because we want it to look more like a stain, and we don't want that much precision in the line of the lips. Now that you have your lipstick on and ready, I'm just going to add a little bit more dimension with a very sheer sort of peachy lip gloss, and I want to apply that to the center of the lip and to the center of the top lip. And that adds just a little bit of depth. And here we have a perfect shade for a day look. It's not too overpowering, and it's just the right amount of color. and that's how you pick the perfect color lipstick that's right for you. I'm Jhizet Panosian, and thanks for watching.
