Hi, I'm Kendra Richards, professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you which eye shadow colors look best with black hair. If you have black hair and a darker complexion, choose eye shadow colors that are in a warmer range in browns and neutrals, those are always foolproof go to colors that look great and add some brightness and warmth to the face. And I like to use the Color Design Palette in sienna sultry by Lancome. Now with darker skin it's very important to make sure that you use an eye shadow base to prep the lid before you begin. That will help the colors to read true and it will also help the eye shadow to stay in place and be maintained throughout the day. So I'll begin with the sheer soft pink color over her entire eyelid. You can see this is already adding a brightness to her lid area. Then I'm going to take this beautiful shimmery champagne color and I'm going to use this as a highlight color starting at the center of her eye and I've chosen that because it's got a little bit of that shimmer in it that I think is so beautiful in the center of the eye. It gives a very awake look to the eye and I'm going to extend it out to the middle and then I'm going to take this brown taupy brown color, again another warm beautiful color that complements Javianna's skin tone and I'm going to use this on the outer edge of her eye to add a little definition right at the outer edge here. I'm going to enhance that further by using this deeper liner color, tapping in on the outer edge. Now you can see that this color palette is bringing her skin to life. I'm feeling like I'd like a little bit more brightness right up under the brow so I'm going to add this bright color, this soft pink in under the brow. And then I'm going to go in one more time with my shimmery champagne color over it and again up under the brow to add that little bit of lift. I like that. So to complete the look I'm going to use this beautiful coppery brown shade to line right at the base of the lashes. And this color is soft but adds a beautiful frame to the eye. Now see your liner doesn't have to be a deep color for it to have an impact. This soft brown is very noticeable and it's just a perfect complement to the warm color palette that I'm using here. So you can see the brightness that I've achieved here on Javianna by using this warm color palette. It's still brightening her eye, it's giving a great open eye look and I haven't had to use any bold colors or anything too harsh. That's a mistake I often see and it's not necessary. You can create a great open wide eye look with this natural color palette. This color palette is so beautiful on Javianna with her black hair and dark skin. It's playing up the features perfectly. I like to finish the look with a coat of beautiful rich black mascara and she's ready to go. So that's what eye shadow looks best with black hair. I'm Kendra Richards. Thanks for watching.
