Hi. I'm Tracy O'Connor, skin care expert. And today I'm going to show you how to choose sunscreen. Now, when choosing a sunscreen, the most important factor is to choose a broad spectrum sunscreen, something that protect from both the UVA and the UVB rays. And additionally you want to consider your skin tone, how quickly you burn and whether or not you want a chemical or a physical sunblock. On Eden, I'm going to demonstrate how to properly apply a sunscreen. We're going to use the Super Fluid UV Defense by Kiehl. OK. So this is a great sunscreen because it has UVA and UVB protection broad spectrum. So, it'll protect against the aging rays and also the burning rays. Now you can see that this is very fluid, very very light weight consistency, which I love because it's great for everyday use, you can wear it under your makeup and it won't clog your pours, or create oiliness or greasiness. And that's what's important about a sunscreen, if you want to wear it everyday. So, you want a sunscreen that's light, that's fluid, readily absorbs in to the skin. It doesn't feel heavy under makeup. It isn't going to make the makeup slide off during the day. And it's important to wear a sunscreen everyday. A lot of that incremental sun damage is caused just when we're walking to and from our car or to and from the office. Now, aging is caused generally in two different ways. Intrinsic aging which is our, our genetic profile, that's predetermined and extrinsic aging which we do have some control over. Things like the sun are a big factor. So, the sun breaks down the collagen and we have a reduction in the elasticity, the volume in our skin, we get over excess melanin production. Now, when it comes to application it's important to apply liberally. You want to apply it in the morning after your moisturizer. And you want to apply it any areas of the skin that are exposed. So you want to apply it to your face, your neck, your chest, even the back of your hands. Now, this has an SPF factor of 50, so it has a very high SPF. And it'll be great for going to the beach or everyday use. And sunscreens come in two different formulations, either a chemical or a physical and physical sunscreens reflect and deflect the sun's rays. Whereas chemical sunscreens absorb the rays and break then apart. This is a chemical base sunblock and it's proven by the FDA to be highly effective against UVA and UVB rays. And there you have it. That's how to choose a sunscreen. I'm Tracy O'Connor. Thanks for watching.
