- Hi. I'm Jhizet Panosian, celebrity makeup artist. And today I'm going to show you how to prevent mascara from leaving dark circles around the eyes. First let's start, make sure that your moisturizer as well as your foundation have really set into the skin prior to applying the mascara. And also you want to make sure there's no residue left on your actual lashes from the foundation or the moisturizer. If there's any left you can just remove it with a little Q-tip and a little bit of makeup remover. OK. Today I'm going to use the Double Extend Waterproof Mascara by L'Oreal. As you can see, Katie already has one coat of mascara. We're just going to go through and add a second coat to really lock it in place. Look down. You want to lift the lid, you want to really start with the root of the lash and pull the color all the way to the tip. And you really want to use a waterproof mascara because it really is formulated for longer wear. And as your eyes tear throughout the day, the product is actually going to be more resistant to the tears liquid. And as a final tip, to really set the look, I'm going to use a little bit of translucent powder on a big fluffy brush. I just want to shake off the excess, look up, and just dust it at the bottom. And to really get in underneath the lashes, you can just take your brush, with two fingers, fold the brush down, and that helps you really get under the lashes. And this way you really avoid any mascara being left behind, creating dark circles. And there you go. And that's how to prevent mascara from leaving circles around the eyes. I'm Jhizet Panosian, and thanks for watching.
