- Hi I'm Rodney Cutler, a stylist and salon owner. Now who doesn't love big glamorous curls? Now I'm going to show you how to get that using a styling mousse and a hairspray. To complete this look I'm going to use Redken Quick Dry 18 Hairspray. So we've prepped the hair using a full frame and you can see that we've got a nice hold but you can still run your hands through the hair. So it's very pliable and bouncy but got some hold to the hair. Now it's time to create those curls. Now this is one of the most sought out hairstyles that we see in the salon day in and day out, glamorous curls. What we're going to do is use a curling iron to create that softness and bounce and curl to the hair. So what you're going to do is take a one to two inch section, wide and deep. Now it's very important that you keep the section flat. We want it to be like a ribbon. Why? We don't want that hair twisted. We're not trying to create a spiral. We're trying to create beautiful fluffy curls, place the hair in the iron and roll around the barrel once. That way you're secure. If there's any loose pieces just pull them out and put them into the next section. Now roll towards the roots. This way you're still anchored at the end and let it sit for three to five seconds. Gently unravel the hair but don't pull out the curl, allow the curl to cool down while it's still barreled. Now work your way around the whole head. So we've got that one last section. We're going to roll that in and then I've got a little trick for you, let it sit for three to five seconds, slide the iron out and to create a little bit of extra body we're going to flip the part to the other side. What that's going to do is give us a lot more volume because we're going against the way the hair naturally grows and that's how you get a little bit more lift and volume. Once we're finished that, tip your head upside down for me, always spray your hairspray from a distance and you want to get it through the roots, not too much on the ends but also lift that hair so it gets right through, evenly through the hair. Bring your head back, shake it out and start to finalize the shape. Oo, la, la, here's our finished look. She looks amazing. Again it's one of the hottest requests that we get in the salon, glamorous curls, one last spritz of hairspray for good luck and you're good to go. So that's how you get big glamorous curls using mousse and hairspray. I'm Rodney Cutler and thank you for watching.
