- Hi I'm Hilda Levierge, I'm a professional makeup artist, and today I'm going to teach you how to get barely-there lips. So there's many times you're going to want a barely-there lip. One time is when you are using a lot of color in the eyes or you're doing a really defined smoky eye. You don't want to take the attention away from the eyes, but you still want to complement the face. So you still need some lip color, just to intensify the lips and balance the whole look. So a lipstain is a really great way to do that. So we're going to balance Kendall's colorful smoky eye with this color, which is touch of toffee. And what I really love about this is the applicator. It almost looks like a sharpie. But it's going to be really easy to apply and you can even use it because the tip is fine enough almost like a liner to outline your lips. When you're applying a stain, you have to work quickly because it dries pretty fast. So I like to just apply it and then just press it into the lips with your finger. And that is so gorgeous. It just pumps up your natural lip color. Also because lipstains don't have a lot of moisture in them, you're going to want to put a lip balm on before you use this, and just buff away any dry skin. So a good way to do that is just take a warm washcloth and just kind of exfoliate your lips and then apply a lip balm and then use your stain. So I'm just going to put a little bit more just right in the Cupid's bow there, that creates a little bit of definition and an optical illusion of a fuller mouth. And Maybelline makes these in a lot of great colors. They have plums and pinks, so if your skin tone is more fair like mine, a plum or a pink tone would be really great. If you have more of an olive complexion like Kendall, this Toffee color is wonderful. Touch of toffee and they also make a mocha. So there you have it. That's how you get a barely-there lip. Thank you for watching, I'm Hilda Levierge.
