- Hi, I'm Carla Kay, celebrity manicurist. Today, I'm going to talk to you about how to avoid nail smudges. So doing UV nail polish is great because it dries immediately once you come out of the light after your drying time, it stays long, two to three weeks. But to get this effect at home, grab a Good to Go Rapid Quick Dry by Essie. You just need a light thin coat, it's going to give you that extra shine effect and in under five minutes you'll be able to grab your bag and go. So when applying your color coat you want to start with the base coat, allow one minute to dry before you apply the first color coat and the same thing, wait a minute before you apply the second color coat. This is going to give a nice even smooth finish and the most important thing is finishing off with a quick dry top coat. This is going to add high shine and seal the nails for chipping. Since you can't do UV cured nail polish at home the next best thing is to apply your layers, wait a few minutes in between and always use a quick dry top coat to finish off. And that's how to avoid nail polish smudges. I'm Carla Kay. Thanks for watching.
