- Hi, I'm Kendra Richards, professional makeup artist and today I'm going to show you how to apply nude makeup. So when working with a nude palette, you want to really use this to help emphasize your features but you also want to be sure that you're selecting a palette that's in the nude range which is champagnes, browns, taupes, those colors all enhance your eye color without overpowering it. So to start the look I'm going to begin with the Color Design Palette in taupe craze by Lancome. So what I love about this palette is that these colors while they're in the nude family range, they will not wash you out. They also have a little bit of a metallic shimmer to them which adds dimension so even though it's a nude color palette it is by far not boring. This is just going to really enhance her eyes and just be so beautiful. So I'm going to start with the base color and I'm going to apply that to her entire eyelid area. This will help with the blending of the additional colors that are going to be going on top of it. And it also helps brighten up the eye area and add a little lift under the brow which is really a nice touch. You don't have to use every color in a palette. You can just play and find out what, you know, what works for you, what you would like. Every day can be a little bit different. Today right now I'm going to use this beautiful taupe shimmery shade on her entire lid. If you notice very magazine that you open, when they have a nude eye it's got a shimmer and it's just about this freshness that you see. So I've concentrated that darker color on the outer portion of her eye because in the center I'm going to use this brighter color to give her eye a little pop as well. And just because it's nude, doesn't mean it's going to be flesh toned. Nude colors or taupes, browns, beiges and that shimmer gives it a little life and a little energy but it is by no means a flesh colored nude color. It's just a light natural color. You know that nude makeup is done well when it's really highlighting to feature her eyes in this case because you're really seeing her eyes and less the makeup. It is the supporting character to her eyes which are the star. And the final step for the eyes is the liner in this deep charcoal brown color and I'm just going to bring it right up along the lash line because this isn't a hugely dramatic look. So I'm just emphasizing her eye shape by drawing along the lash line. There you go you can see the difference. This has really framed her eye. You're not really seeing the makeup, you're seeing the beautiful color of her eyes. So to complete the look I'm going to give her a nude lipstick that will really balance out nicely with the eyes. This color is a perfect complement to a nude makeup look. It's not too washed out and it's not too vibrant in color. This is very similar to her natural lip color but just a real little bit of additional color. It's got enough brown in it that it takes down the redness in Ingrid's lips which make it a perfect complement to the nude eye makeup. So you can always leave the makeup look here which is beautiful, it's stunning but if you'd like to change it up a little bit as well you can add some mascara, that will help bring out her features even further and another little thing I love to do is add in just a little bit of shimmer right up at the top of the cheekbone and there you'll have a complete shimmery beautiful nude makeup look. And there you go. That's how to apply nude makeup. I'm Kendra Richards. Thanks for watching.
