- Hi my name is Hilda Levierge and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to be teaching you how to apply a primer. Primer is a fantastic product. You can wear it alone or under any foundation. What's great about primer is you can use it no matter what your skin type is. So if you have oily skin it's going to matte down any shine. If you have dry skin, it adds a little bit of moisturizer and it creates a really smooth even texture on your skin to apply foundation to. So on Marie today, I'm going to be using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Primer. So when you're applying primer, you can just either put it on the back of your hand and use your fingertips, you can use a makeup brush, or a makeup sponge, but I like to just use my fingertips. And I'm going to start on Marie's skin right here just under the eyes. You never want to put it right underneath your eyes, but just on the cheeks there. And as you can see, the difference between this side and this side already it's just matted down and smoothed out her skin. Any fine lines that she has or pores has been completely masked. That is so beautiful. And I can already feel her skin feels so soft and the foundation is just going to go on so smoothly. So you just want to apply it pretty much anywhere that you're going to be wearing foundation. So on your forehead a lot of women tend to get shiny on their forehead and then just right here on the front of the cheeks. And I'm just going to take the extra product and kind of blend it down into the jawline. I'm not going to go into her neck. And this just feels so lightweight and you really can just wear it alone if you want, you don't even have to wear a foundation over it. But if you do wear foundation over top of it it's going to really make that foundation go on smoothly and evenly and it is going to help it to last throughout the day a lot longer than if you didn't have a primer. So I'm a huge fan of primer. I think it's definitely a necessity. So there you have it, it's that easy to apply a primer. Thanks for watching. I'm Helda Levierge.
