- Hi. My name's Hilda Levierge and I'm a professional makeup artist. Today I'm going to show you how to apply dramatic eye makeup. I'm going to be doing a classic cat eye. And I will use Maybelline's Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision liquid eyeliner in blackest black. What's great about this is that applicator. It's really got a great little sharp tip on the end. So, you get a really nice clean line which is perfect for a cat eye. What you want to do is start in the middle of your eye just above your pupil. And I like to do little tine dashes. Because that just is easier for me. I find it easier than doing one straight line. You have to have a pretty steady hand to do that. So, the dash is a really good way to achieve that. And then you just join them. So, you gradually want to get a little bit thicker as you get to the outer corner of the eye. And then you're going to extend the line just about a quarter of an inch, just up towards the tip of your brow. And if you make a mistake, just dip a Q-tip in a little bit of eye makeup remover and it's really easy to get rid of any little mistakes that you might make. Just look up and over. And a cat eye is always a classic. It looks great, in the daytime, in the evening, it really dresses up outfits. It's just a perfect way to get a dramatic eye makeup effect. So, once you've drawn a line, just close your eyes, once you've drawn a line about a quarter of an inch past your lash line, you can either leave it like this or go a little bit farther which I'm going to do and give it a little bit of an extra flick up towards the end for a little bit more drama and a more cat eye effect. So, this is just great with this brush because it's such a precision point and the tip is really making it easy to just get a really nice clean line. With this liner, you need to work quickly because it actually dries pretty quickly. It sets in to place when it dries. So, it's not going to smudge or move. So, just work quickly and again, if you make any mistakes it's really easy to fix then with a Q-tip with a little bit of eye makeup remover on it. So, I'm just going to finish off this look with a little bit of mascara. And with such a cold dramatic line, you really don't need to bother putting on any more shadow or anything underneath your eyes. This really makes a statement all on its own. If you want you can pair this look either with just a nice gloss or a beautiful bold red lip is very classic. And it's going to give you a lot of drama and a lot of sophistication. So, there you go. That's the best way to get a dramatic eye. Thanks for watching. I'm Hilda Levierge.
