- Hi. My name is Taylor Babian. I'm a celebrity makeup artist, and today I'm going to show you how to apply eyeliner to the bottom lid. So there's actually different ways that you can apply eyeliner to the bottom lid, and it'll create different styles. So whether you want a natural look, or a very stylized look, depending on how you place your eyeshadow or your eyeliner on your bottom lid, it'll give you that look. So to demonstrate this eyeliner look, I'm going to use L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail eyeliner. So I'm using a pencil in a mocha brown. I'm just going to do a slight, soft application - but you can also use a powdered shadow in a dark brown or charcoal, black...whatever you prefer. So I'm just doing a soft application of the liner. Just kind of going back and forth in short strokes. It's always easier to add than to remove. I'm kind of doing like a sultry eye, so I'm bringing it down just a little bit, but if you have close set eyes, you might want to just do it on the outer outside corner. And a lot of times what I like to do is to create balance. So sometimes like when you apply the eyeliner on the bottom lid, it kind of drags the eye down, so when I want to balance that what I like to do is just add a little bit of eyeliner on the upper lid. Kind of wing it out, just that like a little 45 degree angle, just the end. I'm going to take my little smudge brush, just kind of blend that out so that it's nice and natural. Same thing for the bottom. This is going to give it that nice, sultry, sexy look. You can use a darker color. You can even use like more fun colors, like teal or sparkling bronzes, some navies...whatever you prefer. So if you have close set eyes, you know just only applying the liner to the outside corners of the eyes, as well as the top, really helps to elongate that eye. If you do have wide set eyes, you can go farther in and just bring it down and not so much winging out, and that'll really help to give the illusion of balanced eyes. Now if you want an even smokier look, you can also apply a little bit of your black pencil eyeliner on the inside lower rim of the eye. As you can see, I've already put mascara on her - again, to counter out the balance, make sure that it looks pretty, and also so that the eye doesn't drag down. You always want to consider balance when you're applying makeup and really consider your eye shape, and make sure that it's complementary with your eye shape. So I think I want to make this a little bit sultry, and we are using dark brown, so we can kind of still look quasi-natural. And we take a little bit of that liner, and we're just going to bring it down into that lower, inner rim of the eye, and that's just going to make it that much more sexy. So we finished lining the inner rim of the eye using the dark brown liner, and what you could see is that it really does define the shape of the eye. It really gives it structure, and it definitely enhances the shape of the eye. So there you go! That's how you apply eyeliner to the bottom of the lid. My name is Taylor Babian. Thanks for watching.
