Hi, I'm Jeremy Clark, Professional Hairstylist and Salon Owner. And today, I'm going to talk to you about how to add volume to your fine hair. Our model Vanessa has somewhat fine hair and fine hair can tend to go really flat especially towards the end of the day and sometimes it'll get a little greasy around the edges and you'll lose all that volume an body that we want. So, I'm going to show you how to blow dry it to put as much volume back into the hair as you can. So, to get those look at home you'll need a natural bristle round brush, a ionic blow dryer, preferably with an nozzle and a volumizing hairspray. Today, I'm going to use the Garnier Fructis Volumizing Hairspray. And you just want to start by spraying a little bit of spray at the roots, just putting a little, a base product in the hair; going right underneath. And you can do this really quickly at home by just lifting or turning your head upside down and spraying your hair that way. Okay, now, I have a little bit of product, I'm going to blow dry through the hair just to make sure the product is set and distributed evenly. And I'm using the head shape, blow drying the hair away from the face, blow drying all the way up towards the crown. And then once you have the hair rough dried, you can go in with your round brush. So, I'm going to be taking sections through the top, we call that the Mohawk section. I will start with about two to three sections; I'm going to pull the hair straight up and then while I'm blow drying, I'm actually going to over-direct the hair forward, just like this and really concentrating on getting those roots. And what over direction does is it really forces the hair to go out of its normal way of laying, pushes it in the opposite direction so it gives you tons of lift. Okay. So, I'm just going to spray some more right at the roots, we want to get these roots to really lift up. Okay. Once you can feel the hair has been heated, you want to keep it wrapped around the brush and then without pulling it straight, keep that curl there and just quickly pin it in place, exactly how you were blow drying which is slightly over directed forward. Okay, you can see. Another thing I like to do is just catch some of these little strays; these are the baby hairs that kind of, don't get caught in the dryer there. Here we go. And then the next section. So, this is how your hair should look once it's done; everything has been over-directed and pulled up to the top and pinned. I just like to give it a light spray and then you can feel, make sure that the spray is dried and make sure that the hair is cooled. It's important to let the hair cool because that'll actually sets the hair, sets the style that you put into it and we can go ahead and drop the pins. Okay, once the pins are dropped, you just want to brush through the ends. You can see we've already got all kinds of volume on top. Setting the hair like this will actually give longevity to the hair, little, it actually creates a memory in the roots so that the hair will stay up in that position literally until you wash it the next day. So, you can see it's actually really easy to get a little bit of volume in fine hair. It's actually much easier to get volume in fine hair than it is in thick hair. So, I always love working with fine hair. And that's how you add volume to fine hair. I'm Jeremy Clark, thanks for watching.
