Spring 2012 Undressed.
New York Fashion Week. A seven day whirlwind of colors, fabrics, accessories, celebrities, models and forays of fashion trends. We've seen all types of trends from urban safaris and causal elegance to lady like styling in our favorite berry tones. We've seen metallics, sheerness, leather, minimalism and bold bold prints. This Season truly had something for everybody. And on this very last day the newest trend emerged to leave us a memo: we can keep piling on the color, the layers and the sequins, but style can be as simple as a slip.

(Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein)
The complete antithesis of all the trends and ideas that emerged this spring 2012 season. The under-dressing. The simplicity of a slip as your statement peice. Completely groundbreaking and just the point that leads into my final thoughts on New York Fashion Week. See, style isn't about what is "in fashion" it's about you and how you interpret those trends so that you feel confident and beautiful everyday. These past seven days we've seen all types of styles, trends and silhouettes. The bottom line here is that ANYTHING GOES! You can really find the right pieces for you in the styles that make you inspired. That is what personal style is. So take all these trends and references as a building point to what inspires you to get dressed everyday. Take your favorite ideas and start to incorporate that into your wardrobe now. Accessories are the easiest way to adapt to colors, and bold jackets are quickest way to add instant high style to your current look.
Just remember fashion is fashion, but style is all about you!
