A peek of my favorite moments at NYFW
By Shyema Azam
With New York Fashion Week (almost) officially over, I thought it would be a good time to give a peek at some of my favorite moments. This Fashion Week proved to be as exhausting as previous ones, but as always, it managed to come through and be quite a memorable one. And the best part is, I survived it (rejoice!). So without further ado, some of my favorite pics from backstage and beyond:
MAC'S VIVAGLAM LAUNCH PARTY WITH NICKI MINAJ AND RICKY MARTIN
Yes you read right. I was invited to check out MAC's VivaGlam launch party with hosts Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin (also in attendance, Kelly Osbourne, Angela Simmons, Alexander Wang, Tinsley Mortimer, Christian Siriano and more models than I can count). Nicki and Ricky made one splash of an entrance: The stage spins to a sudden 180, the place fills with smoke, and suddenly we find Nicki and Ricky mounted on a motorcycle -- I can not make this up:
A very smiley DJ Benny Banassi was also on hand to spin some out-of-control amazing tunes that kept the crowd moving all night:
Oh hey, there's me with some friends at the MAC party!
Speaking of MAC, I was so excited to see some MAC girls rocking these branded MAC nails backstage at the Libertine show. The colors are new for fall and they are the first polish using MAC Pigments in them! How beautiful are they??
THE RACHEL ROY SHOW
I already wrote a little bit about the celebs I bumped into at the Rachel Roy show. It was definitely the most memorable in that aspect, so I thought I'd share a few more pics from that day.
Running into the beautiful Indian supermodel, Nina Manuel. Check out her amazing gold Rodarte heels!

Running into Miss J:

Beautiful but tired models take a seat after standing for hours for the presentation:

The gorgeous purses!

THE NICOLE MILLER SHOW:
There were all sorts of fun things going on backstage at Nicole Miller. We can start with the psychedelic, 60s nails created by CND. MAC cosmetics was also backstage using other-wroldly shimmer on the models eyes. It was pure beauty:

I also had a hard time taking my eyes off of CND creator Jan Arnold's black and white tire-track nails.

REBECCA TAYLOR
All the hair extensions backstage at Rebecca Taylor. Cutler's Dai Michishita made the models look street chic by adding a faux fringe and using a razor to cut through them for a edgy look.
