Denim isn't just for jeans. Switch up your style and rock denim in a different way. Denim vests are an incredibly chic and stylish option. Best of all, denim vests are super versatile, so you can wear yours in tons of different ways, from feminine to edgy to retro.
Over a Sundress
Spice up your summer dress by wearing it with a denim vest. It'll really make your frock a bit more edgy, especially if you're wearing one in a feminine material like lace or a girly pattern like floral. Try a pair of sandals or a wedge shoe. If you want to go even further toward the edge, try a flat boot.
'80s Flair
The '80s are back in a big way. If you want to rock this old-school style, throw your denim vest on over a sweatshirt. Mixing denim and sweatshirt material is definitely a fashion must. Just make sure your proportions work. You'll want a sweatshirt that's not too over-sized so that it doesn't look bulky under your vest.
With a Button-up Blouse
Try your vest over a flowy, ladylike blouse for a cool juxtaposition of romantic and structured. Or go casual and opt for a plaid button-up. Any style you like will work here, and, since denim plays well with everything, you can pick just about any color or print that you want.
With Jeans
Yup, that's right, you can wear your denim vest with jeans. This might sound like denim overload, but as long as you do it right, it's totally chic. To avoid looking overdone, make sure your denim on the bottom is a different shade than your denim vest. This can mean choosing a lighter or darker wash or pairing your denim vest with colored denim on the bottom. The look works with any denim option, so if you don't want to wear jeans, try denim shorts or a denim skirt.
