Wen Cleansing Conditioner is a new concept in hair care. Instead of lathering your tresses with harsh detergents, Wen cleanses your scalp and hair using a secret recipe of aloe vera gel and emollient oils. There are many formulations of Wen Cleansing Conditioner. Although each type works beautifully on all hair textures, fine and dry hair may have best results using the Cucumber Aloe cleanser. Doesn't that sound refreshing?

What Is Wen

Wen Cleansing Conditioner started with the small vision of celebrity hair stylist Chaz Dean. Working in Hollywood, Dean met plenty of celebrities who colored their hair or had natural texture that was hard to smooth without drying and frying the integrity of the hair shaft. Dean set out to create a line of cleansers that didn't lather or strip moisture from the hair. Dean's Wen line grew to include styling products and bath oils.

How to Select a Wen Formula

If you have a chance to visit Dean's Los Angeles salon, by all means pop in and check out his retail display to receive individual advice on choosing a Wen formula. Wen is also available on the Internet, on shopping channels and at some hair salons. No matter the formula, all Wen cleansers work on dry hair. In fact, the entire cleansing concept was created to remedy dry and parched split ends. Created for various hair types, the six formulations are: Fig, Sweet Almond Mint, Lavender, Cucumber Aloe, Pomegranate and Tea Tree. For fine and dry hair, Cucumber Aloe is the suggested Wen formula.

How to Use

Using Wen with beautiful results takes some practice. Forget the lather part of your shampoo routine first and foremost and don't worry that your tresses aren't getting clean. Lathering doesn't add any more cleansing ability to a product; it just feels that way. Use enough pumps of Wen to cleanse and massage the product into your scalp. You'll need to spend extra time rinsing, too. But remember, you're not cleansing and conditioning in two separate steps. You've already saved time. Once you rinse, you're done. Just like that.

Take a Break

Fine hair has a tendency to fall flat, but you already knew that. Wen's lightweight alternative to cleansing doesn't coat the hair shaft. You'll likely find your fine tresses can skip a day of shampooing. Once you've experienced the lightweight body and shine Wen adds to your fine tresses, you'll understand what all that late night fuss and talk is about. Go ahead and indulge in the Cucumber Aloe variety and ditch your stripping suds for good.
