Whether you're sporting a pink strapless dress for prom or as a bridesmaid's dress, accessorizing your dress can take it from special to spectacular. Shoes, jewelry, a bag and a wrap, if it's appropriate for the weather, can finish your look. Pink can be sweet or sexy, depending upon the shade, shape and style.
The Shoes
Regardless of how simple your style is, shoes are a necessity. If you'd like pink to grow up and go to a cocktail party, pair your pink strapless dress with high, strappy black heels. Metallic tones can work with pink, but choose shoes that look elegant rather than cheap, especially if your dress is short. If your pink dress has clean lines and minimal detailing, choose playful and whimsical shoes in a matching or coordinating shade of pink. When your dress has diamond accents, go with the same for your shoes if you opt for sparkle on your toes.
Jewelry
A strapless dress provides a stunning backdrop for a big and bold necklace. Try a multi-strand pearl necklace with diamond accents for a paler pink shade. A jeweled bib-style necklace will work with brighter shades or help pastel pink grow up for a more sophisticated style. Keep your earrings smaller and more delicate with simple diamond studs or a small drop style earring that matches your necklace. If your dress has diamond accents high on the bust rather than lower on your dress, choose a smaller, more subtle necklace or none at all.
Bags
An evening bag can hold your essentials, including cash, ID and makeup for touch-ups throughout the night. If you'll be dancing the night away, opt for a bag with a strap to keep it close at hand with your hands free. A clutch is a pretty choice for a fancy dinner date. Skip the dyed-to-match bag in favor of a coordinating shade of pink or a bag that matches your shoes.
Wraps
A shawl or wrap can keep you covered up in cool weather or comfortable in icy air conditioning. If you're a bit self conscious about your arms or worried about too much cleavage, a wrap can provide additional modesty. Choose chiffon, double-sided satin or silk in black, silver or gold or a coordinating pink for warmer weather. In cold weather, consider a cozy velvet to keep you comfortable in your strapless dress.
