Overview
After the excitement of getting invited to your first ski party starts to wear off, the next thought is "okay, so what should I wear to this thing?" This is a tricky event to prepare an outfit for because you may not be 100 percent sure of the setting and activities planned for the evening yet.
Get the Details
Before you start playing with outfit ideas for the ski party find out all of the details. Some ski parties are held in a lodge while others are outside on or near the slopes. Check the invitation thoroughly and email the organizer if necessary. Don't make the mistake of going to the party bundled up and prepared to hit the slopes when all you'll be doing is dancing by the fire inside. Also, find out if there's some kind of theme going on.
Ski Bunny State of Mind
When getting an outfit together for a ski party start off by thinking "ski bunny" and brainstorm from there. Of course, don't go too far with this (it's not the Playboy mansion, after all) -- the idea is just to look cute, fun and ready to frolic, whether on the slopes or inside the cabin. So, if the party is indoors, just wear a pair of great-looking, leg-hugging jeans and a fitted sweater that accentuates your curves. Find a V-neck sweater in a bright, eye-catching color, like canary yellow or blue. If the party's outside, bring a pair of ladies' snow pants to throw on top of your jeans in case folks decide to hit the slopes. If you want something a bit more dressy and it's an outdoor party, scavenge through your closet for a sweater dress that reaches to mid-thigh.
Furry Boots
If you've got a pair of cute furry boots sitting in your closet unused, now's the time to bring 'em on out to wear with your ski party outfit. No better excuse to drop it like it's hot in a pair of fur-trimmed or covered boots than this type of cold-weather party. If you chose a dress that shows off some leg, go with either slouch boots or high-heeled, thigh-high boots with tights to keep you warm.
Wear Layers
Remember that it's probably gonna be a little cold at the location of this ski party, so regardless of what you decide on, you might want to wear layers. For instance, put on a pair of leggings under your jeans if possible or layer a shirt under your sweater. You might also pull on a short bodysuit first if you're planning to wear a dress.
