A new fall wardrobe is the perfect excuse for a glamorous outdoor photo shoot. Those killer calfskin boots, that flattering fall jacket, it all works for a photo session that is never-to-be-forgotten. The soft light and cool breeze of autumn make it the season to bask in the great outdoors -- plus, the not-too-hot temperature ensures that you'll look perfectly poised instead of sweaty and burned.
Colors
When it comes to outfit colors, play up the season. Fall is jam-packed with eye-popping beauties, like deep reds and purples, orange, yellow and brown. What could be better than to mimic this stunning palette in your own fall photo shoot? Go for warmer colors if you have warm skin tones, such as red and purple if you have a yellow or gold undertone, and cool colors for cool skin tones. Cool skin tones have a blueish tinge and are enhanced by yellow, which is why blond hair looks so natural on people with paler skin. Don't worry, bottle blondes are cool, too.
Style
As the saying goes, "If you've got it, flaunt it," but this doesn't necessarily mean that less is more. When you say goodbye to summer, you should also say goodbye to those tank tops, short shorts, halter dresses and other hot-weather looks. Fall means it's time to cover up a little more, but this isn't a bad thing. Lucky straight or slender body types look wonderful in pleated miniskirts, layered dresses and A-line skirts, which give you the illusion of curves and hips. For the rest of us who don't have to pretend to have hips, a straight dress that falls just above the knee paired with a cute cardigan will slim the body down. And don't forget the boots! Boots are one sexy choice that must be stored for the summer but can be redeemed from storage the second the air starts to get a chill on.
Fabric
Fall is the season for scrumptious, gorgeous, must-have fabrics! Sumptuous leather, checkered houndstooth, light-colored or brown suede and delicate cashmere are all wonderful fall fabrics that will enhance your pictures with their elegance. Mix and match solid pieces with patterned ones, and don't be afraid to bring in a little of everything. With enough solid pieces to keep the overload down, you can mix a houndstooth skirt with a checkered headband and a thin, striped scarf.
Makeup
Just like summertime means easy on the makeup, heavy on the sunscreen, fall means the opposite. Of course, too much makeup is never in style, but don't be afraid of a loud, attention-hogging red or a deep, intense purple on your lips. Your eyeshadow can mimic the trees with a light shade of delicate brown and a sweet purple accent, while a nice sweep of blush can enhance your cheeks. Naturally, if your killer summer tan is still good enough to show off, simply choose some shimmery eye powder and a shiny lip gloss and let your natural good looks do the talking.
