Any time you can combine function with style, you win. If you can get over the images of 1980s Flashdance and give leg warmers a second look, you may find a versatile and funky fashion accessory with lots of potential. Pair leg warmers with boots for a chic and warm combination that will help you strut through winter with style.

1.

Pull on your leg wear of choice. Wear leggings or skinny jeans in almost any color you wish. Dark colors like denim blue or black are old standards, but don't be afraid of color. Step out in brights or bolds and you won't go wrong. Another option is a flirty miniskirt with warm tights.

2.

Time for the boots. You have a bunch of options here. Choose a lower boot such as ankle or mid-calf or go all the way up to your knees. Choose chunky with buckles or a sleek look -- high or low heels. Any of these styles would be suitable for the look you're creating.

3.

Choose leg warmers that coordinate with the colors of your boots and leg wear. Neutral colors like off-white, black or brown are always safe, but you can inject color here if you want. Scrunch the legwarmers inside your boots or wear them over your boots down to your ankles. If you're wearing knee-high boots, let the leg warmers peek out over the tops an inch or two.
