Designers know the importance of cruise wear, or there wouldn't be resort-wear collections. When thinking about cruises, consider bright colors, floral and stripe patterns, flowy dresses and crisp whites. You might be thinking, "OK, that's what you wear on a cruise, but what to wear to a cruise party?" Well, why not stick with the cruise basics and glam it up with some accessories and add a hint of sex appeal by showing some skin.

Taking it to the Maxi

Maxi dresses, dresses that are ankle length or longer, are in for the spring 2011 season and don't seem to be losing any steam. They are sleek, gorgeous and are the essential cruise wear. These dresses come in so many different styles, colors and prints that every woman will be able to find one that fits her body and taste. Although these floor-length dresses can sometimes be a bit dress down for a party, take a hint from Who What Wear and "... go for a gown that reveals your gams via a thigh-high slit." Thigh-high slit dresses add a bit of glam and sex appeal without revealing too much. They also are free flowing, so dancing the night away or just enjoying the sea breeze will be no problem.

Romp Around in a Romper

Rompers, jumpers, or onesies -- whatever you want to call them -- they are all the same, they are a one piece, which means that the have a top and built in pants and/or shorts. Rompers usually are daytime friendly, but you can easily take them from day to night. Turn up the party look by pairing your romper with high-heel sandals, but take advice from Refinery29 and "avoid sandals with thick ankle straps that can segment your shape in an unflattering way." Totally glam up the look by trying a gold romper or a slick black romper. Just remember, if you do a romper that are shorts, make sure to pick one that is longer and covers your bottom. Gina Marinelli and Connie Wang from Refinery29 suggest "jumping around in the fitting-room to make sure" that your bottom is covered. To keep you covered and warm on the high seas, throw on a blazer over your outfit. This also will help to polish off your look.

All-White Everything

If you're a woman who can keep food off of her clothes (lucky you), then all white is for you. There is nothing cooler then a woman dressed in head-to-toe white. When doing separate whites -- jacket, shirt and top -- make sure your lines are crisp and clean. Don't get lost in all that white and do a crisp white Bermuda short -- shorts that typically cut off a little above the knee -- to show some skin. If you dare to bare, go a little shorter but don't go the boy shorts route because this look is all about sophistication. To keep it all dressed up, do a white button down top and a white blazer. This look is a casual cool, but to give it some party flare, do gold accessories such as gold sandals, gold clutch and some gold jewelry. As a reminder, keep the jewelry simple because this look is laid-back and easygoing.

Earn Your Stripes

Why not have some fun with the sailor look by playing around with your stripes. You can take a basic strip shirt and dress it up with a skirt, or you can even take a strip skirt and pair it up with a basic T-shirt. To really have fun with the look, do red accessories like a red bag or red jewelry. Do note that these accessories work well with with black and navy stripes. To finish off the look, try pairing it up with some espadrille wedges and a double-breasted blazer. A striped dress also goes well with these accessories and blazers.
