Floral dresses are a fab way to look feminine and stylish. If you have a cute little floral print dress and want to wear it, learn some fashionable and cool ways to make it the most of it. From dressy to elegant and understated and even edgy, your dress has several personalities.
Make it dressy. Florals aren't just for daytime wear. You can also wear them to fancier events if you style them right. Take a cue from "Gossip Girl." Leighton Meester's character Blair wore a pretty pink floral frock to attend a wedding on Episode 18 of the show. She gussied up her flowy floral dress by pulling her locks into an updo accented by a pretty bow and pairing the dress with super-high pink heels and a snazzy pink clutch.
Try wearing your floral print with darker shades. The contrast between a feminine floral and dark pieces makes your look totally striking. Actress Emmy Rossum visited the "Good Day New York" studio wearing a brightly colored floral dress over black tights, paired with a black blazer. She topped off the look with wine-colored pumps.
Keep it simple if you want your floral dress to be the star of the show. Kerry Washington visited the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in April 2011 sporting a perfectly elegant look. She accessorized her floral dress with a simple necklace, earrings and pumps, keeping the look posh and pretty.
Toughen your look up. The juxtaposition between your feminine florals and more edgy pieces makes for a totally interesting ensemble. Take a cue from Rihanna, who wore a floral camisole dress with a pair of black, utilitarian Alexander Wang lace-up booties.
Wear it in the winter. Floral dresses may seem like just a spring and summer staple, but they can be used as winter wear, too. Try throwing on a pair of tights and boots with your printed frock. Add a cute, long-sleeved cardigan to complete your cold-weather look.
