What to Wear Dark Brown Uggs With

Your dark brown UGGs are more versatile than you might think.

Girls these days will wear anything with their Ugg boots. Just rolled out of bed? Not a problem! Simply stuff your flannel pants into your Uggs and traipse down the street to the market! But if you want to look like you actually glanced in the mirror before you left this morning, you'll think twice about pairing your dark brown Uggs with just anything.

What Goes on Top

Balancing texture is essential when wearing dark brown Ugg boots. It doesn't matter if your Uggs are made out of sheepskin or suede. Their bulk is pretty much the same either way. So wearing contrasting material, like sheer shirts or clingy tops, isn't the best plan. Below-the-waist cable-knit sweaters look adorable with Uggs. Go for an off-white or cream color for a bohemian touch, or choose a light pink sweater for a tasty spumoni combo. And if you must wear a thin shirt, go for a cowel-neck turtleneck and pair it with a flirty cardigan vest. Stay away from gray and blackish shades unless you want to be found guilty of wearing black and brown together.

The Jeans

You can wear jeans a couple different ways with dark brown Uggs. If you want to tuck them in, get a pair of skinny leg jeans that slide right in. But if you think your hips aren't quite cut out for the skinnies, grab a boot-cut pair instead. They'll tuck into the cuff of the boot just as well. If you feel more like letting it all hang out, go for a wide-flare jean. You can leave the back part out and tuck the front section into the boot like a rap star, or just drape it all around the boot. And you probably don't want a very dark rinse, or your jeans will blend right in with the chocolate tone of your boots.

Pants Alternatives

If you have a figure fit for leggings, these look cute sandwiched between an oversized sweater and dark Ugg boots. Don't think that a badunk-a-dunk butt or thunder thighs will get in the way. Your sweater should conceal all of that. But if you're not ready to step out in such snug-looking attire, go for a pair of jeggings (which are like a leggings and blue jeans crossover) that feature a little more material and a hair less cling.

Everything Else

If you didn't perform due diligence in coordinating your clothing with the dark brown of your Ugg boots, tie everything together with accessories. Scarves, newsboy caps, snood beanies and knit purses match the clunky Ugg style and therefore save you from an absolute fashion disaster. Select accessories with variations in colors; none of that monochrome stuff. And if that knit cap you've had your eye on has the slightest hint of dark chocolate in the fabric, snatch it up before someone else does.
