Elvis talked about his blue suede shoes a long time ago, and while yours may not be suede (and you aren't crooning about them), they're likely fabulous enough to sing about. Perhaps you just do it in your bedroom, while searching your closet to find something to wear with them. Well, fear not, because blue is versatile and that means that there is something -- no matter what the fashion crisis, there is always something -- to match those blue shoes.
Maybe your favorite red dress is bold enough to stand on its own, and perhaps you would normally forgo bright accessories because of it. But today is not an ordinary day, so forget what you would normally do and up the outrageous factor instead. Pair that cherry red with an electric blue and do yellow accessories, for a triumvirate of primary-hued fabulousness. Darker reds work best with a navy shoe, while a red that's almost pink requires a more turquoise-rich blue.
White Jeans and Light Blue Top
This is an easy daytime look that is conservative but chic. Keep it low profile with a light blue strappy sandal with a modest heel or a plain blue pump. Or add pizazz with a sparkly blue stiletto in direct contrast to the color of your shirt. Wear this on casual Friday at work or out to an afternoon lunch date. Stir it up a bit if you're feeling frisky, and choose a funky printed patterned boot boasting a main hue of blue.
Look like a fresh spring bouquet in a color combo of blue and yellow, with hints of white thrown in. Accessorize your frilly yellow sundress with pale blue heels and perhaps a matching blue shawl. A white belt and clutch and silver accessories cap off a look that could be worn to church, tea or for a storybook picnic with your beau.
Navy Blue Suit
Add some contrast to a monochromatic navy suit with a lighter shoe hue. You can either do a lighter version of navy or a cornflower blue, depending on the shade of your suit. Break up the blue with your accessories, and make your suit pop with red, white or pink, depending on your mood of the day. The height of your heel depends on the type of suit you're wearing; a super fierce navy blue pantsuit almost demands a sleek, icy blue pair of stilettos.
