Whether you're celebrating your own accomplishments or those of others, you should definitely look fly while doing it. Awards dinners are classy affairs, so you need to keep it dressy, though you can show off your keen sense of fashion with a well-placed accessory or two. Just don't forget your sunglasses to block the flashing lights as you make your grand entrance!

Suited Up

Throw 'em a curveball by showing up in an ultra-feminine tuxedo tailored to your body. Your suit can be all black or black and white, but don't forget to wear a lower cut and fitted satin top under. Pair your tuxedo with a pair of patent high-heels, a sparkly clutch and a long necklace. Keeping your accessories feminine will ensure that you look alluring, yet polished for the evening.

Ultra-Glam

Of course, you can always get glam for an awards ceremony with a gown. Choose a long, flowing gown with intricate details like beading, sequins or jewels. Or opt for a simpler look with a satin gown. Let your accessories do the talking if you go with the satin by adding a long gold necklace, a matching bracelet and cocktail ring. Choose a pair of dress sandals and match the look with a sparkling clutch.

Chic and Cool

Sometimes, you just want to knock 'em dead with your awesome style! For this, go with a knee-length dress in a bolder color or print. Add complementary jewelry like a chunky necklace and bracelet to really set it off. Of course, your shoes will really do the talking for you, so pull on a pair of fancy booties or chic platform pumps.

Other Tips

Remember that the other people attending the dinner are still colleagues, so keep your professional or organizational image in mind when dressing. This means that overly alluring attire you would not wear to work should be left at home. Keep your makeup neutral or smoky, and forgo the ultra bright colors. Instead, stick with coppers, browns and purple for your eye makeup and peachy or orange-brown blush. Keep your lips light as well. You'll want to be sure your makeup looks great in any lighting, since photos will likely be taken. If your outfit is simpler, you may want to pump up your locks to really stand out. But if you've gone all out with your dress, tone down the hair. Balance is key for looking fab during the ceremony!
