Once your pimples have gone, you want them to be gone forever. You survived the frustration of acne, trying your best not to pick at your pimples, buying magic pimple creams to make them go away and finding makeup to cover them up when they insisted on staying. The scars they leave behind are the ghosts of embarrassment past. The last thing you want are marks on your face reminding you of what was perhaps a less confident time of your life. You can help remove pimple scars with items you already have in your refrigerator and cupboards.
1.
Squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice onto a cotton ball and dab the juice onto your pimple scars. The alpha-hydroxy acid in the juice works as an exfoliant to shed dead skin cells and encourage growth of new ones. This will help lighten the scars.
2.
Combine lemon or lime juice with enough sugar and honey to make a paste. Gently rub this onto your pimple scars; the sugar crystals will further exfoliate your skin, and the honey will soothe it.
3.
Don't put that lemon or lime away yet. Use a few drops of juice, 1 tbsp sour cream, 1 tbsp plain yogurt and 1 tbsp oatmeal to make a mask. Pat it on your scars and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing it off.
4.
With your fingertips, massage olive oil into your pimple scars. It is a natural moisturizer that will help make the scars less distinct.
5.
Blend a chopped tomato and a chopped cucumber in a food processor or blender. Then wash your face with a gentle cleanser and use paste as a mask on your entire face, leaving it on for 7 to 10 minutes before rinsing it off. This will tighten your pores, which makes your pimple scars less apparent.
6.
Before you go to bed, pat egg whites on your pimple scars using a cotton ball. Rinse it off in the morning. This has the added benefit of helping prevent new pimples from forming.
