Clogged pores and blackheads go hand-in-hand. Those little dark spots that dot your face are actually the result of dirt and other bacteria that has gotten a little too cozy in your pores. Since pretty much no one wants to walk around with these unattractive spots, you are looking for the best way to open your pores and get rid of those pesky blackheads -- once and for all. Fortunately, doing so is quite easy, effective and cheap.

Place a large pot on the stove and fill it with water. Turn the heat on high and wait for the water to bubble. Once steam starts to radiate from the water, drape a towel over your head and stick your mug directly into the soothing steam. The hot and moist vapor will cause your pores to open. Keep your face in place for about five to 10 minutes. Obviously, if the steam and heat get to be too much, take a break or just move a bit further away.

Clean your fresh face with a product that will dissolve the dark plugs and prevent acne from forming. Look for a cleanser that contains salicylic acid and use it twice a day. Overtime, the acid will dissolve those distasteful plugs and leave your skin glowing and blackhead-free.

Treat your face with an exfoliating scrub once weekly. The exfoliant will remove any dead cells that are contributing to the dirty pores from your face. Once they are gone, your skin will likely look more radiant and glowing, as the aged cells can cause it to look dull.

Tips & Tricks

Moisturize your face with a product that is oil-free and nonclogging. Often, the active ingredients in these acne treatments can cause your skin to become dry. Using a lotion can prevent that from happening.
