So you finally splurged on that super sexy lace bra, and it didn't come cheap. But now you're afraid to wash it for fear of ruining it. Well, you can't just wear it over and over without ever washing it, or you might start to smell a little funky. Instead, wash the bra the right way to ensure the lace stays intact during the process. By giving your lace bra a little TLC during cleaning, you help to ensure it lasts for a long time.
1.
Fill the sink or tub with cool water. Add gentle laundry soap to the water and mix it up. Refer to the label on the soap for the exact amount to use since this will vary among brands.
2.
Stick your lace bra in the water and let it soak for about five minutes. Swish the bra around for about a minute.
3.
Rub out any heavily soiled spots using your fingers. Let the bra soak for a few more minutes.
4.
Rinse the bra well under cool, running water until all of the soap is gone. Squeeze it gently to remove the excess water.
5.
Smooth out the bra with your hands to restore shape. Hang it to dry in a spot away from direct heat or sunlight.
Check your bra for colorfastness before submerging it in water. Dip a corner of the bra into the wash water, then hang it up over a clean, white towel to see if any of the dye drips off the bra. If no dye comes off, you're in the clear. If it does, you can still wash the bra, just not with other items that the dye may spread to.
