How to Wash Hair With Baking Soda & Apple Cider Vinegar

Who needs the store bought stuff when you can make your own at home!

There's no question that shampooing your hair on a regular basis is a necessary part in keeping your locks clean and healthy. But you don't have to use harsh shampoos that can damage your hair and are bad for the environment to get your glow on. Instead, head to kitchen and grab some baking soda and apple cider vinegar. That's right, ladies, these two common kitchen staples are an eco-friendly alternative to commercial shampoos. What's even better is that it's a cheap way to clean those gorgeous tresses.

Pour 1 cup of warm water and 1 cup of baking soda into a squirt bottle. Put the lid on and shake it up. In a separate bottle, mix 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar and 1 cup of water.

Work the baking soda mixture into your wet hair. Make sure to massage it into the scalp and the ends of the hair. Use a comb to distribute the mixture throughout your hair.

Rinse out the baking soda mixture.

Pour the apple cider vinegar mixture into your hair. Use your fingers to work it into your scalp and the ends of the hair. Comb your hair to thoroughly distribute the mixture, then rinse under lukewarm water.

4.2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
