Maybe it's Halloween, maybe it's a costume party or maybe you just need to get a little something out of your system. Amuse small children and frighten dogs with a wacky new hairstyle. Forget about wigs and take the hairs on your head in directions they never dreamed possible. Your freaky, funny coiffure will have spectators rubbernecking in your direction.
Side Ponytail
A teasing comb, hairspray and scrunchie are your best friends if you choose to go for one of the '80s' wackiest, tackiest looks. Give your hair some volume by teasing and spraying the roots, and then hoist it all up to one side of your head. You get bonus points if you have bangs you can freeze in mid air with half a can of hairspray.
Mohawk
The Mohawk hairstyle may have come about as a form of youth rebellion, but it has endured because it is so freakishly amusing. The heaviest-duty hair gel you can lay your hands on is essential. A Mohawk works best on hair that is relatively short. The taller the spikes, the harder it is to get them to stay up.
Beehive
Tease most of your hair until it is a giant pile of fluff on the top of your head, smooth the remaining hair over it, bobby-pin it in place and spray that aerosol hairspray like you mean it. The beehive look is wackiest when it is high, so reach for the ceiling.
Heidi-ho
Go for the look of the original Swiss Miss with braids that wrap around your head. Make two braids, lay one over the other along the top of your head and pin it all into place. For added wackiness, accessorize with flowers, toy cars, pipe cleaners or anything else that strikes your fancy.
