Any fashion-forward woman can have an arsenal of hair curling knowledge at her command, from hot rollers to rags, bobby pin curls to basic slept-in braids. Mimicking the salon look of sexy, polished deep wave curls is another matter. That style requires a little help from a cousin of your old, trustworthy electric curling iron. Transform your hair into beautiful, stylish curls with this useful twist on a hot little device: the triple barrel curler.

1.

Dry your tresses, if they aren't already dried. You don't need to work on clean hair to use the curling iron, and should never use a curling iron on wet hair.

2.

Work a little heat protection into your hair, so that the curling iron doesn't do you any damage. You can use a curling mousse or a heat-resistant hair serum. Pull the product evenly through your hair with your fingers, and then comb it.

3.

Pick a heat setting on your curler and turn it on. Your curling iron may have many settings, so pick one that will be high enough to hold your curl but won't burn your hair. You may have to experiment with the curler to find the setting that's best for you.

4.

Let the curler heat up, until the ready light turns on. Grab a thin section of hair that's at least 2 inches wide.

5.

Slide the hair section between the top and bottom parts of the barrels. Stop 1 inch from your scalp, so that you don't burn your head. Close the triple barrel curling iron on your hair, then release it after a few seconds.

6.

Move the curler down the section of hair and close it again. Keep doing this all the way down the section, until you have the crimped, bohemian look your stylish soul desires. Bang it out again on the rest of your hair.

Tips & Tricks

If the ends of your hair look like a hot mess, enclose the entire bottom part of the hair in the curler, leaving nothing sticking out of the barrels. Release the curler to set free your neat, finished edges.
