A blow dryer that comes with a detachable nozzle on the end gives you extra styling options. When you add the styling nozzle to the hair dryer, you suddenly have a tool that delivers the heat right where you want it in a controlled blast. Watch the magic unfold with a nozzle on the end of your blow dryer.
Prepare Your Hair
After washing and conditioning your mane with your fav products, towel dry your locks gently to get rid of as much moisture as possible. Slather on some thermal protectant spray and a little styling cream to give your hair the heat protection and styling boost it needs to be as beautiful as possible.
Start Sans Nozzle
You’re going to rough up your hair just a touch to get rid of most of the moisture. Take the nozzle off the end of the blow dryer and direct the heat over your hair lightly. Gently mess your hair with your fingers as you dry, continuing until your hair is about 80 percent dry.
Add the Nozzle
It’s time to get serious now. Stick the nozzle onto the end of the dryer and grab a vented brush. If you want straight locks, make it a vented paddle brush. If you want loose curls, make it a vented round brush. Pull sections of hair straight out from your head with the brush. Hold the blow dryer so the nozzle is about 5 inches away from your hair and aim the nozzle down along the hair from the roots to the tips. To smooth the cuticle, make sure you always aim the nozzle down the hair shaft and not up -- aiming the nozzle up will rough up the cuticle instead of smoothing it. Finish blow drying your hair this way until it’s completely dry.
Finish the Styling
After you finish drying, check out your progress. Depending on the style you’re after, you might be just about done or you might want to add a little more. Go ahead and add some random curls with a curling iron or straighten your mane here and there to finish a straight style. Arrange your hair gently and give it a light spritz with hair spray to finish.
