Plumping mascaras and eyelash primers can get you halfway there, but if you really want beautiful, lush lashes, reach for an eyelash curler. This handy little gadget can really open up the look of your eyes, and curled lashes look fuller and thicker. You can't go wrong there. So take your makeup to the next level and give those lashes a little lift.

1.

Grip the eyelash curler, putting your thumb through the bottom hole, your middle finger through the top hole, and resting your index finger on top to steady the curler. Open the curler. With your eyes slightly open, place your lashes into the open curler, and move the curler to the base of your lashes.

2.

Align the base of the curler with your eyelashes, ensuring that the angle or curve matches as much as possible. Slowly close the curler on your lashes.

3.

Hold the curler securely shut for 10 to 20 seconds. Do not jerk the curler or flinch, or you'll be saying "Ouch!"

4.

Slowly release the curler by separating your fingers. Gently pull the curler away from your eye.

5.

Repeat these steps on your other eye. If more curl is desired, reapply the curler for another five or 10 seconds per eye. Finish with two coats of thickening and curling mascara.
