Mix castor oil with another oil to dilute it. Castor oil is thick and has very potent cleansing agents, so you have to mix it with oil. If your skin is oily, mix 1 1/2 tbsp. castor oil with 3 1/2 tbsp. sunflower seed oil. For normal skin, mix 1 tbsp. castor oil with 4 tbsp. sunflower seed oil. If your skin is dry, mix 1/2 tbsp. castor oil with 4 1/2 tbsp. sunflower seed oil. Mix the oils together in a small bowl.
Scoop out a quarter-sized amount of the oils into the palm of your hand. Give your hands a good rub together to warm up the oil.
Smooth the oil onto your face with your fingertips, then use your fingertips to massage your skin using firm, but slow motions.
Now sit back and relax. Give the oil some time (at least five minutes, but more if you can) to work its magic on your skin. Once you've waited a bit, get a soft washcloth and soak it with hot water and wring it out. The water should be hot, but not so much that you burn your skin.
Lay the washcloth on your face for a few minutes until it cools down. Wipe down your face gently to remove the excess oil. Rinse out the washcloth with warm water, then wipe gently wipe your face again. Wipe your face a few times, rinsing out the washcloth in between. Pat your face dry with a clean washcloth when you're done rinsing.
If you want to make a larger batch of the oil cleanser, double, triple or quadruple the recipe for your skin type. Store the oil in a clean bottle with a lid for easy access. Wash out the bottle, or use a new one, each time you make up a new batch of the oil cleanser.
