You love your sweater dress but aren't sure what shoes to wear with it. Sweater dresses are super versatile so you have a lot of options when it comes to shoes that you can wear with them. Picking the right shoe can make or break your look and totally change the tone of your outfit. Learn how to best pair shoes with your sweater dress and get ready to step out in style.

If you're going for a sexy look, heels are the way to go. They'll lengthen and showcase your legs. Sweater dresses tend to be somewhat bulky, so throwing on a pair of pumps can glam up your outfit. Pumps also are ideal for longer sweater dresses.

Sweater dresses are cold-weather pieces, so it makes sense to pair them with a warm, cozy shoe. Boots are the most obvious shoe to pair with your sweater dress, and they'll go with pretty much any kind. Whether you want a flat, chunky heeled, tall or slouchy boot or something in between, boots with your sweater dress are guaranteed to be a hit.

If you're looking for a casual/dressy mix, pick up a pair of booties. Booties usually stop at the ankle, so wear them with tights. Depending on your dress, throw on a pair of flat, chunky or extra-sexy stiletto booties and look right on trend.

Ballet Flats

For a Parisian chic look, slip on a pair of ballet-inspired flats. These dainty little shoes don't look quite as good with chunky sweater dresses, so wear these with more fitted and delicate knit dresses. Be careful when pairing them with thick tights, which can overwhelm the shoes. Thin tights and pantyhose work best with ballet flats.
