You have the perfect little black dress. You've got the earrings, the bracelet, the hair and the handbag -- and a hot event to strut your stuff at. You're planning on looking and feeling fabulous and awesome as you dance the night away. You just happen to be missing one thing -- the shoes! Make the dance floor your own in the right shoes so you can get down with your fancy footwork.
Boots
Boots are you best friend if your little black dress is an above-the-knee style. If you are wearing a short LBD, strap on some over-the-knee boots. OTKs will give you a funky look for a hot party outfit. Over-the-knee boots also look stunning on long legs. If you are petite, go for a up-to-the-knee boot or, better yet, an ankle boot. You get the same rock 'n' roll look, but you'll look less like Puss in Boots and more fabulous.
Slingbacks
Slingback shoes are characterized by their backless style and their strap, which secures the shoe by resting on the back of the foot just above the heel. Slingbacks are fun party shoes, and they have a way of looking both elegant and sassy at the same time. Choose a pretty pair of slingbacks, perhaps with a peep-toe, to finish off a sophisticated little black dress. Slingbacks also look nice with more modest styles. If your LBD is knee length or has a high neckline, pair it with some slingbacks for a ladylike finish.
Metallics and Colors
Metallic or colorful shoes are perfect with a little black dress. The black coloring of your dress gives you room to get creative with shoes and accessories. Gold or silver shoes look amazing with an LBD because they contrast well and draw attention to your legs. A shocking red pair of shoes with a fitted black dress will really turn up the heat in the fashion kitchen. Go for jewel-tone colors to keep the look sophisticated.
Black Shoes
A classic pair of black leather or suede pumps works perfectly with an LBD, particularly if your dress is an unusual or edgy style. If your LBD is made of an textured fabric, maybe lace or satin, a simple pump won't compete for attention. Your LBD may have some fashion-forward touches like emphasized shoulders or strong visual embellishments. Here, too, classic pumps allow the dress to remain in the spotlight.
