Spring is always an exciting season in fashion. Just as you are becoming weary of the dark days of winter, a spring revival ushers in a bouquet of fresh fashion to feast on. From burst of bright-colored yellows, purples and blues to a variety of prints and florals, showcasing these fashionable trends will have your wardrobe in full bloom in no time.
Prints
Blossoms seem to burst every spring, in the form of colorful prints that can be seen adorning dresses of every type. Nothing says spring more than a flirty dress decorated with printed petals. Belted, draped, mini or longer and ladylike; find the style that suits you and invest in this staple that will take you all the way to fall.
Denim
If floral is a little too "ladies who lunch" for your taste, nothing is more contemporary and continuously evolving than denim. Denim is a constant for every season and it only gets better with age. Grab your favorite skinny, borrow your boyfriend's relaxed pair or throw on your favorite cut-offs with a perfectly worn tee and topped with a broken-in biker jacket to complete your "model off duty" look. Spring is a time to experiment, why not try a few unfamiliar denim silhouettes. Pair a denim shirtdress with a low-slung belt or an open denim button down over a flirty dress. For a more pulled together look, tuck and belt the shirt with a printed skirt. The denim piece will instantly make the outfit a little less girly and a little more relaxed. However you choose to wear your denim be sure to avoid looking like Britney Spears circa 2001 and never wear it as a head to toe look. For a fabric with an "anything goes" mentality this seems to be the only golden rule.
Khaki
If you are looking for something a little more pulled together, why not try khaki? Before you start having visions of ill-fitting Bermuda shorts, you should know that khaki keeps reinventing itself every season and keeps popping up on runways and in stores every spring. Khaki is a spring trend that will work for everyone, regardless of age, shape or budget. If you choose to buy a khaki piece this spring, whether in the form of shirtdress, linen pant, cargo short or accessory, you will be investing in a seasonless mainstay with unending potential.
Accessorize
If you prefer a more muted 9 to 5 palette but still want a bit of spring excitement, why not add a bright accessory to your wardrobe? Color is always, without fail, in style for spring. Pop your outfit with a ruby stiletto or emerald flat. Grab a hot-pink clutch or cinch your little black dress with a red leather belt. Nothing will brighten these remaining winter days more and energize you for the exciting season to come.
