Do you have a pair of underwear that you just love, but wish you could have a thong made of the same fabric? You can turn the underwear into a G-string and literally get your wish. Instead of messing with patterns and measurements, you can use a G-string that already fits as the basis for your custom creation. This alteration is pretty quick, so you can transform your entire underwear drawer in no time at all.
1.
Place a G-string that fits you well over a regular pair of underwear.
2.
Use a chalk liner to trace the G-string's outine onto the underwear, adding an extra quarter-inch to allow for a seam. Set the G-string aside.
3.
Cut the underwear following the chalk lines. Discard the parts that you cut off.
4.
Turn the underwear inside-out.
5.
Fold a quarter-inch of material along the edges over. Use straight pins to hold these folded edges in place. Roll the narrow back piece into a thin roll like a shoelace.
6.
Sew the folded edges in place, either by hand or with a sewing machine. Remove the pins as you sew.
The thin roll of fabric must be sewn together by hand, it is too small for a sewing machine. Use small, looping stitches to keep the fabric in a tight roll.
7.
Turn the new G-string rightside-out.
