Your apple-shaped body may be hard to dress as you tend to carry weight in your tummy. When shopping for pants, you want a style that creates the illusion of curves at your mid-\section so you look fashionably delicious and not sinful.
About Apple Shapes
Apple-shaped, or O-shaped, bodies usually feature slim legs with a rounded midsection. Even if you are of normal weight, you may have a short waist and a generous bust. Your hips are often narrower than your belly. A defined waist is only a dream – especially if you overindulge too many days in a row. Don’t despair, however. Boot-Cut and Straight-Leg
Boot-cut trousers with straight, loose-fitting legs contrast with your middle and make you look balanced, rather than round. Choose ones that fall below your ankle to create the appearance of long legs. Dark colors are particularly elongating and flattering for apples. Tapered-leg or skinny-fitting pants only make you look literally like an upside down apple with a very long stem.
High-Waisted
Choose a pant with a high waist that hugs your midsection slightly. Fabrics with a bit of stretch can actually minimize your middle and make you appear slimmer. To complement this style of pant, choose a blouse that gathers beneath your bra line to draw the eye down the tummy or a wrap-style shirt that makes you look like you have a waist.
Avoid
Tight-fitting trousers are a no-no for apple shapes. The more snugly a waistband hugs your midsection, the more attention you draw to that area. Pants with pleating, big pockets and gathers only add to your tummy. Go for a flat-fronted trouser or one that zips or snaps at the side. Skip pants with dropped rises, as these harem-style pants are baggy and hide your sexy, slim legs and only make you look dumpy.
