Tights are a fabulous winter-weather staple because they keep your legs warm and cozy. But tights aren't just for function. They're just as fashionable as they are useful. And, they can be worn in more ways than you might think. So, when the weather cools off, pull out your tights and get creative!

Your dress looks absolutely adorable worn over tights. Any type of dress will work, so whether you're sporting something casual or working with something more dressy, you're sure to look fab. Spice up a plain dress with textured tights, or add a pop of color to a neutral-colored dress with tights in a brighter hue. If showstopping tights aren't your thing, keep it simple and go with the same color palette throughout.

Skirts look just as fab with tights as dresses do. Wear your tights with winter skirts made out of wools and tweeds. And, no need to pack up your thinner, spring and summer skirts. Just add a pair of thick tights to keep your legs warm and you're all set for colder weather.

Don't want to hang up those shorts once summer's come to an end? You don't have to. Just wear them over tights. This trend is incredibly popular and totally chic. Just take it from fashionable ladies like Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung and Nicole Richie, who all love the look. Try yours under denim cut-offs to keep it casual, or get a little dressy with a fancier pair of shorts and pumps.

Tunics, unlike dresses, can be worn as tops or, if they're long enough, like a dress. So, make sure that your tunic is an appropriate length before trying to pair it with your tights. Slipping on a pair of tights is the perfect way to take a short tunic and make it appropriate to wear without pants. If your tunic isn't long enough even with your tights, try taking the tights and shorts trend and combining it with your tunic. Add a fab heel, and you've got a perfectly fashionable look.
