These days fashion is incredibly creative. With hybrids like jeggings -- leggings and jeans -- it's no wonder there's even a shoe for ladies who can't decide between boots and pumps. The ankle boot, or bootie, comes in many different styles. Lace-up ankle boots are super popular, but how do you wear them? If you're not so sure, don't fret. There are tons of fab ways to pull this trend off.
Pants
Try your ankle boots with lightweight, looser fit pants like a harem pant or pair of chinos. On top, add an easy sweater or tee. If your pants are longer, roll them up. You'll want to show off your shoe, and since it only rises to the ankle, it'll be easy to pull it off. If it's a little chilly, add a boyfriend or denim jacket to top off your look.
With Skinny Jeans
Just like you tuck your skinny jeans into boots, you can pull off the same look with booties. Make sure your skinnies are fitted throughout, otherwise you'll end up with a messy looking baggy-jeans-and-boots thing that just won't work. If your skinnies are a little looser at the ankle, do like you did with your chinos and roll them up.
With Boyfriend Jeans
If skinny jeans aren't for you, try a boyfriend jean instead. Boyfriend jeans come in a more relaxed fit than skinnies, so try them with a lace-up ankle boot that has a bit of a heel to make your legs look long and lean. Finish your look off with a simple tee or sweater and a cool scarf tied around the neck. If you want to grunge your look up a little bit, opt for a distressed boyfriend jean.
With a Dress
Lace-up ankle boots look just as chic with a dress as they do with pants. Just make sure you're taking note of how fancy your frock is. If you're working a more dressy look, choose booties that are also dressy. This means you'll definitely have to wear a heel. For more casual dresses, try more casual ankle boots or slip on a fancier pair to dress up your look.
