Rock a low-bun hairstyle for a chic updo that works for both fancy and casual destinations. Although mixing things up with an unsymmetrical touch can make a spirited do, symmetrical low-bun hairstyles exude elegance. Get creative as you coil your hair back, and your mane will set the stage for fierce fashion.
Center Part
The words "ho-hum" don't describe the classic elegance of a center part in front and a low chignon at the nape of your neck. Add a shine serum to your strands after drying them to bring on the super sleekness. After parting your hair down the dead center, comb it back smoothly and secure it into a low ponytail centered perfectly above your neck. Start twisting and coiling the pony until it forms a pretty bun. Pin it tightly with bobby pins and spritz your head lightly with finishing spray to hold it tight.
No Part
Ditch the part and add some volume to your style instead. Add some texturizing spray to damp hair and blow it dry with a paddle brush for big body. Grab a teasing brush and pull small sections of hair straight up at the crown of your head. With the hair held high, backcomb each section lightly. After teasing the hair along the crown of your head, comb over the top layer to make it smooth and sleek. Gather your hair lightly into a ponytail at the nape of your neck but don’t pull it tightly. Secure the pony, twist it into a pretty bun and pin it in place with bobby pins.
Braided Buns
Pretty French braids along both sides of your head can make a sweet updo. Start with a center part and comb your hair to detangle. Make a French braid on each side of the part, starting at your front hairline and traveling around the sides of your head to points right behind your ears. Stop the braids there and fasten hair bands tightly to make two pigtails. Coil each pigtail into a small bun and secure the buns tightly with bobby pins.
Messy
Make a messy low bun for a fun and casual style. Add some texturizing spray to damp hair and rough-dry it with the blow-dryer and your fingers. After your hair is dry, rake it straight back with your fingers to make a low ponytail. Secure the pony and start looping small sections from the pony into a messy bun. As you loop your strands, pin them in haphazard fashion. Keep going until you create a messy but magnificent bun.
