Styling your hair with a triple barrel curling iron will give your locks a sleek, smooth wave. This glam look is simple enough for every day, sexy enough for a party and dressy enough for a formal occasion. This style works well for gals who have naturally straight or straightened hair.
Preparing
Blow dry your hair straight and smooth. If you have super curly hair that has a hard time staying straight, you may need to use a straightening iron on it after blow drying. This does make for a lot of extra work and stress on your hair, so don't do it too often if you're a curly gal.
Sectioning Hair
This nifty device works a lot like a crimping iron -- you just clamp it down on your locks to give them wave. Using the right technique will make your locks look more professionally done, though. Pin up the hair on top of your head first to get it out of the way. You'll curl small, thin sections of hair at a time; big sections won't hold the curl as well. Doing small sections will pump up your hair's volume, too. You'll let down the hair on top of your head and curl it after you're done with the rest.
Curling
Before curling each lock, comb it smooth and make sure it's completely separated from the hair underneath, so you don't end up with a funky mess. Then start curling at the roots, clamping down your triple barrel iron about 3/4 inch from your scalp. Hold for about five seconds, then unclamp. Without clamping, slide the iron down the section of hair so the top iron fits into the bottom part of the last wave you created. Then clamp down again to add the next set of waves. When you finish that lock of hair and are ready to curl the next section, try to line up the waves horizontally for that stylish uniform look.
Product
Use the product that works best for your hair. You may want to use gel or styling lotion before you blow dry your hair to create that glossy look. Spritzing lightly with hairspray as you curl can help the style to set. Spritzing just after releasing the curl is another option. Finishing spray will create a polished, glam look.
