You're sporting sassy, sexy short hair with bangs, but you're looking to change it up a bit. Maybe some angles would look great, or a super-straight style that has sultry written all over it. Shorter hairstyles with bangs offer a lot in terms of creative expression and style potential. Grab a brush, some styling product, a straightening iron and good music. It's time to style it up.
1.
Brush out your hair really well, working out tangles and snags from a good night's sleep. Part it naturally, where you feel comfortable with it. Plug in your hair straightener or blow dryer, whatever you have on hand. If you're using a blow dryer, spritz your hair with water to dampen it before you begin. You can use jumbo hot rollers to create a similar effect, according to beauty experts with RedbookMag.com.
2.
Separate your hair into four sections: two in the front of your head, left and right, and two in the back, also left and right. Clip these sections up and out of your way, except the one you plan to focus on first. Time to add some style.
3.
Add a styling gel or hairspray to this section, then grab a 1/2-inch segment from this first part of your hair with the straightening iron, starting at your roots, and pull the iron down, creating stick-straight strands. For some amped-up body, slightly curve the hair away from your face, creating the appearance of added volume. You can also use a blow dryer and large brush to style the hair in a straight, curved fashion that frames your face. Start at the roots and work to the tips with the hair dryer and brush option, working slowly to create the right shape.
4.
Move through that section until it is completely straight, back to front. Unclip another section and work your magic. Complete all four sections to create a sexy, stylized finish.
5.
Spray styling spritz on your bangs to work on them next. Play around with them and decide which way they fall better, to the right or left. If you have cowlicks, cater to those to keep your hair from going rogue.
6.
Apply the straightening iron to your bangs, getting them all under the iron at once, and slightly arc the iron from your face as you straighten the bangs. This creates an elegant curve and body to the bangs -- and keeping them out of your eyes. Add one more squirt of hairspray to lock your locks in place.
7.
Apply a finishing spritz of shine serum to make sure your style sparkles.
Keep your tips trimmed to make super-straight styles look flawless. If you have ultra-short hair, use styling products with waxy textures that create stiff strands, and have some fun moving your hair in a shape that you want.
